15 Versatile blogger moms you must read- Part I

Recently I was awarded the Versatile Blogger Award by Sangeeta from Sangrywords and Pooja from Much Ado about nothing

THANK YOU lovely ladies!!! When you are spending day in and day out dancing to the whims and fancies of a pint sized Diva (aka my daughter) receiving any award feels amazing let alone one for being a Versatile Blogger. This award proves two things 1) At least more than one person reads and likes my blog 2) My writing is not sleep inducing and hopefully versatile. ( laughing)

Anyways the rules of the award are as follows:

  • Add a picture of the award in your post. (Check)
  • Thank the award giver. (Check)
  • Share 7 random facts about you. (Read Below)
  • Nominate 15 other bloggers for The Versatile Blogger Award and let them know that they’ve been nominated. (Read Below)

7 Random facts about me :

1) I am a Keralite Catholic married to a Hindu Punjabi and I enjoy the best of both worlds.

2) In my previous life (i.e. before I became a SAHM) I worked in the Corporate sector and traveled the world!! (okay some countries).

3) I trained in the dance form of Bharatanatyam for six years.

4) I love lurking for hours at Craft and design blogs but in real life I can’t cut with scissors in a straight line even if my life depended on it.

5) I am Left Handed and that contributes to not being able to cut in a straight line. (Another post I must do soon)

6) I am extremely shy and become nervous in public forums which sometimes people perceive as Arrogance. (How? I have never figured out)

7) I am obsessed about this blog and I even have dreams about it. (There I said it!)

Now the most important part of the award is nominating 15 other bloggers for the same. I decided to give it a twist and share with all my readers 15 blogs and their blogger moms which I truly feel are worth a dekko. Although they are all blogger moms not all of them blog about motherhood which is what makes them as versatile a bunch as possible. Some of these are new, some are fairly established and hugely popular, some are Indian and some from other lands but all of them are brilliant and aweworthy. I had started this as a single post but along the way realised that it was getting too long for one post and so I have divided it into two parts.

The Mom Writes

This blog written by Prerna Malik is an awesome resource for all the Work at Home Moms. Whether you are begining your WAHM career or are looking to resurrect from a slump in writing Prerna has the best tips for you. The icing on the cake is the new e-book by Prerna : How to be a Work-at-Home Mom eBook: The Happily Ever After Guide to Leading the WAHM Life. A must buy if you are a WAHM which is full of tips and suggestions for Work at Home Moms. (Look out for a review soon)

The Happiest Mom

I love the tagline of this blog “Happy. Mother. You really can use both these words in the same sentence”. Because lots of cynical voices in the blogosphere will have you believe otherwise. Megan Francis the author and mother of five, not only lets you in on the secrets to being a happy mother but she has also written a book about it The Happiest Mom: 10 Secrets to Enjoying Motherhood.

Zenmotherhood is the twitter handle of Uma, a mother of two and in my humble opinion the Twitter Mom of India. Her bright and adorable tweets about her two sons keep the tweeple in splits and also make them nostalgic about the innocence of childhood. She also tweets about education, women rights and children’s issues in India and world and as a mother I am awed by her multitasking ability.

Amy Lynn Andrews does just what she promises. She gives blogging tips, tools and tutorials…in plain english. For a newbie blogger like me who has no technical knowledge whatsoever I feel grateful for a blog like Amy’s which doles plenty of non-jargon advice for bloggers. In fact the Awesome Screenshots that accompany this post were also the result of a post by Amy. Her bestseller e-book Tell Your Time: How To Manage Your Schedule So You Can Live Free is what I hope to read next.

Mansi Zaveri shares travel advice, activities, interesting places of visit, food, shops, toy & book reviews and helpful tips, tricks, and resources for raising a child through her blog. If you live in Mumbai, I would recommend that you bookmark her blog because she lets you know about lots of places to visit, activities for Kids in Mumbai.

Collen Padilla is a Product review blogger who has created a fabulous blog with amazing reviews, giveaways and the best part about her blog are the Videos which feature her and/or her children using the Products being reviewed. Colleen has also co-authored the book The Digital Mom Handbook: How to Blog, Vlog, Tweet, and Facebook Your Way to a Dream Career at Home. This book is like a bible to me and I hope to achieve some measure of success in pursuit of a Work at Home Career.

Farida Rizwan is a well-known and respected blogger in Indian Blogging Circles. She blogs about her life, her kids, Poems and Musings. You will seek inspiration from her life experiences, her battle with Cancer and her love for her kids. I believe she also has a winning streak where blogging contests are concerned. I am yet to witness any blogging contest in which she has not won a prize and rightly so because her writing is honest and real.
